ABOUT US

Who We Are

I am an integrative counsellor offering online therapy across the UK.

I support adults who are experiencing anxiety, trauma, low self-worth, and relationship difficulties, particularly when they feel stuck in patterns that are hard to shift on their own.

Many people I work with describe feeling overwhelmed internally while appearing to cope on the outside — often living with overthinking, emotional exhaustion, self-doubt, or difficulty feeling secure in relationships.

Therapy offers a space to slow things down, make sense of what is happening, and begin to create meaningful emotional change.

What I can help with?

You may be looking for support with:

  • Anxiety and constant overthinking
  • Trauma and emotional overwhelm
  • Low self-esteem and self-critical thoughts
  • Relationship difficulties and attachment patterns
  • People-pleasing and codependency
  • Fear of abandonment or emotional insecurity
  • Difficulty setting boundaries
  • Feeling stuck in repeating emotional patterns
  • Disconnection from yourself or your needs

These experiences are not signs that something is wrong with you.
They are often understandable responses to life experiences and relationships over time.

How I work

I am a qualified counsellor with a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and a qualification in Intermediate Systemic therapy . I work in an integrative way, which means I draw on different therapeutic approaches depending on what best supports you. These include person-centred therapy, psychodynamic thinking, transactional analysis, solution-focused work, and systemic therapy and ideas.

This allows us to explore both:

  • your internal emotional world
  • and the relational patterns that may be shaping your experience

In practice, therapy may involve understanding your emotional responses, exploring relationship dynamics, working with self-criticism, and building greater emotional regulation and self-trust.

You do not need to know what type of therapy you need we work that out together.

Why people come to therapy

People often come to therapy when they feel:

  • “I understand my patterns, but I can’t change them”
  • “I keep ending up in the same emotional situations”
  • “I feel overwhelmed and don’t know why”
  • “I struggle to feel good enough no matter what I do”
  • “Relationships feel confusing or emotionally intense”

Therapy helps create space to understand these patterns in a different way — not through judgement, but through awareness and reflection.

What sessions are like

Sessions are online and take place in a confidential, supportive space. There is no expectation to have everything figured out before starting. We work at your pace, with whatever feels most present for you.

My approach is relational and collaborative, meaning therapy is not about being analysed or told what to do, but about exploring your experiences together in a way that helps you understand yourself more deeply.

Some sessions may feel reflective, others more grounding or focused on coping, depending on what you need.

Feedback from clients

Vanessa is very understanding, respectful, straight to the point, down to earth & professional. She challenges me, which I love. I have never opened up to a mental health professional this much before, & she always has really helpful resources to help me better understand what's going & why. Cannot recommend Vanessa enough!

Vanessa is an amazing therapist, teacher and listener. She is also very deep person, has a lot of knowledge and experience in her. With her you will learn A LOT.

Vanessa is a good listener, who asks useful questions to get to the bottom of things, and she has a proactive approach. I like that she sends me explanatory videos of psychological concepts after our sessions, so I can get a deeper understanding of what I am dealing with.

Vanessa is excellent to work with. Very attentive and she provides lots of excellent feedback as well as great tools to work with. I highly recommend her.

Vanessa is kind, caring and most importantly compassionate. She challenges my thinking and gives me helpful advice on how to overcome my issues. She’s amazing, and I couldn’t recommend her enough!
